Test Engineer V – Houston

This is a 3+ month contract

The primary focus of this development effort is to produce tools for digital control system (DCS) application engineers to rapidly and effectively validate their DCS application prior to site installation and commissioning. The Software Test Engineer is expected to demonstrate thorough knowledge of DCS configuration, FAT and validation practices. The Essential Functions of this position are Participate in design and development meetings, ensuring Design for Testability is achieved. Verify team compliance with documented software development processes. Prepare Test Plans with assistance from developers. Execute Test Plan, write Test Report, Certification Report and Change Requests. Lead the team in developing effective user documentation. Co-ordinate the Beta test, organize the Beta test feedback, and write the Beta test summary. Provide support and training to Customer Service Center team, company internal Services Groups, and other stakeholders to Introduce newly released product. Collect user feedback for subsequent product enhancement efforts.

Education/Experience: Position requires a degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5+ years experience configuring, validating or commissioning Digital Controls System (DCS) configurations. Preferred Qualifications that will give an applicant priority include; Foxboro I/A configuration and validation experience, Testing Certification Credentials (SQE or similar); Experience with configuration management and change control systems such as CM Synergy and Change Synergy; Experience with automated testing tools such as WinRunner or QTP ; Experience in Customer Support for DCS, Experience in Operator Training Simulators.
