Job Description
Candidate must be able to prepare instrument and control system detail drawings, location drawings, instrument control system data bases, bills of materials, loop drawings, wiring diagrams and P&IDs in support of Invensys Foxboro and Triconex control system installation projects. Candidate should be experienced with instrument piping/tubing and instrument wiring design. Review of sub-contractor and vendor equipment drawings. Be able to develop subcontractor installation specifications and be able to work with and understand mechanical, electrical, process and other disciplines design groups or subcontractors. Must be able to prepare power and ground details for instrumentation and process control systems. Understand electrical area classifications with regards to process control system installation design.
Person must understand and apply ISA standards, National Electrical Code, and be able to follow any state, local codes and contract requirements. Coordination and work with off-shore value added design engineering centers as required by project needs. Some travel is required during the design and construction phase of the projects. Long and short term temporary field assignments are possible.
Qualifications
AutoCad 2005, MicroStation and instrument control system design training with 5+ years of instrumentation design experience, preferably in the process control DCS industry. Can read and interpret P&IDs, Functional, logic and loop drawings, electrical schematics and proficient with MS Office applications. Solid working knowledge of I&C design products for the process control industry. Knowledge of Invensys Foxboro and Triconex control systems and process control equipment a definite plus.
Self starter, able to work with limited supervision and direction. Strong English communications skills are required. Must have an Associates degree or possess technical schooling or related job experience equivalent. Active participation in associations such as ISA or ASME. INtools experience/training, and experience with MS project a plus. Candidate must have knowledge/experience in electrical design, control system design and basic engineering. The ability to mange installation electrical and instrument subcontractors a definite plus.

Computer Literacy including Word, Excel and Access
Self Starter, self directed
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and follow instructions
Must understand and be able to follow schedules
Must be able to travel for long and short term field assignments
Knowledgeable with NEC and ISA standards
