JOB SUMMARY

Provide technical expertise and specialized MicroStation 3D computer services to Transmission Operations with regard to Transmission Line Standards & Materials.  Mgr is looking for at least 1 year of 3D and Microstation exp.  Mgr will ask for drawings to confirm exp. 

JOB DUTIES

1. Develop, maintain, and manage material specifications and assembly unit data in SAP.

2. Develop and maintain transmission line standards in a MicroStation 3D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) system.  This will include making detailed measurements, constructing transmission line hardware mock-up assemblies for field evaluation, and researching new products. This may also include field investigations requiring walking, or driving a 4-WD truck or ATV in conjunction with the use of binoculars, and photographic or video equipment.

3. Interface with inspectors, engineers, construction personnel, warehousing personnel, purchasing agents, vendors and management regarding materials and standards development, procurement, and packaging issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

A college degree or technical certification in computer software, technology or an engineering discipline is preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent mathematics and English grammar skills is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

1. Proficient in MicroStation 3D drafting, solids modeling, and programming.

2. 2 or more years of recent MicroStation 3D experience.

3. Working knowledge of Windows XP.

4. Microsoft Office experience with Word, Excel, Access

5. Ability to operate a personal computer, binoculars, and photographic or video equipment in an outdoor environment.

6. Ability to utilize measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures to assess dimensions of materials.

7. Ability to perform advanced mathematical computations (algebra and trigonometry) required for engineering calculations.

8. Ability to read, interpret, utilize and discuss technical manuals and documents regarding computer software and/or hardware.

9. Valid Texas driver license.

WORK HOURS / LOCATION

1. Available to work occasional overtime.

2. Preferred hours 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday (5-8’s schedule).
