CDI Engineering has an immediate opening for an Instrumentation & Electrical Designer.

This resident I&E contract employee will assist the Maintenance Manager in monitoring and coordinating manpower, man-hours, projects, procedures, documentation and all other programs essential to the maintenance I&E function.

Primary responsibility is associated with the maintenance of the plants instrument and electrical equipment.

The I&E workforces assists the Maintenance Manager in ordering and expediting materials as needed for outages, repairs, etc.

This will include providing information regarding the receipt of purchase of stock and non-stock incoming material, equipment and supplies to the plant.

This positions requires one to maintain a high emphasis on safety.

Note the employer must comply with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) rules and regulations for employment of instrument and electrical workers.

Required Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 6 years I/E experience in a CPI plant environment.

An associates degree is preferred.

Must be able to trouble shoot problems on instrument loops and control logic.
Perform repairs on components such as control modules, analyzers, electrical systems, and mechanical replacement parts.

Perform documentation of work along with installation qualifications and operation qualifications.

Execute IQ/OQ procedures on all types of equipment.

Have experience in LOTO, PSM, and Hazop.

Will provide maintenance support for process instruments, electrical and control systems at EDNLP.

Perform calibration and services on equipment such as pressure transmitters and RTD's, burner controls, gas detectors, oxygen analyzers, and PLC controlled devices.

Perform preventive maintenance and certification as scheduled with required accuracy to insure proper equipment operation and compliance to guidelines and regulations as applicable.

Make recommendations on reducing or increasing frequency or interval of maintenance schedule.

Strong mechanical aptitude ability to use and understand manufactures service manuals.

Ability to read, understand and document loop-sheets, elementary drawings, terminal drawing, and &IDs.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team.

Experience in maintenance for a CPI setting preferred.

Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, engineers, and supervision. Demonstrated computer skills.

Working experience with equipment powered with electrical voltage of 110 to 480 volts, three phase.

Have experience in isolating equipment powered with 4160 voltages.

General Duties and responsibilities:
The I/E workforce is responsible for the organization and distribution of the plant's instrument and electrical systems including analyzers.

Based on experience level and plant experience, the I/E workforce responsibilities and duties will be delegated by the Maintenance Manager.

I&E personnel will be responsible for the installation, repair, movement, and maintenance of all control, switch rack and distribution stations and all I/E equipment including control valves and associated equipment.

The I/E representative (by the Maintenance Managers delegation) assists in monitoring and coordinating the work of personnel in the maintenance department in the Maintenance Managers absence.

Maintenance:
Must be able to trouble shoot problems on instrument loops and control logic.

Perform calibration of transmitters, actuators and sensors.

Perform repairs on components such as control modules, analyzers, and mechanical replacement parts.

Perform documentation of work along with installation qualifications and operation qualifications.

Execute IQ/OQ procedures on all types of equipment.


Equipment Preventive Maintenance:
Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on equipment such as pressure transmitters, RTDs, burner controls, gas detectors, oxygen analyzers, and PLC controlled devices.

This position requires one to maintain a high emphasis on safety.

Due to the size of the EDNLP organization, and the critical role that I/E plays in maintaining equipment reliability, high attendance for this position is a critical requirement of the job.

Must able to climb ladders with no fear of heights.

Must be able to lift and carry fifty pounds.

Must be able to work off-shift hours in support of plant operating efforts. (Shutdown, start-up, call-outs)
